The second edition of the Energy Services Congress concluded this midday in Barcelona after two intensive days of seminars, talks and round table discussions. The Group contributed actively through EMTE, one of the event’s sponsors, and EMTE Service, which gave a seminar from its position as one of the leading companies in the sector.
The Director of Energy Services, Ángel Ortega, discussed one of the most representative projects of EMTE Service: the improvement in energy efficiency of the Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona. The renovation of the building’s thermo refrigeration system and the implementation of a new energy management system have permitted the Liceu a 26% saving in energy in the 2010-2011 campaign.
The Minister of Enterprise and Employment of the Generalitat of Catalonia, F. Xavier Mena, inaugurated the second edition of the Energy Services Congress, which attracted over 800 professionals. The experts used the two days of the Congress to discuss the main issues concerning the energy sector. They showed their support for public-private collaboration in the sector and called for more support from administrations and clearer regulations in order to promote energy services.
