The Bursa tramway, COMSA’s third project in Turkey

The city of Bursa (Turkey), through its Burulaş urban transport company, has awarded COMSA the construction of Circular Tramway line 1 in the city, a project valued at 8 million euros, and representing the company’s third contract in the country.

The work has an implementation period of one year and includes the construction of a total of 7 kilometres of single circular track, 13 stations, a workshop, infrastructure and superstructure. COMSA will also be responsible for the final design, electrification and signalling of the entire installation. The new Circular Tramway will ease traffic and reduce pollution and noise in Bursa, Turkey’s fourth largest city and one of the most important automobile manufacturing and machinery centres in the country.

With this award, COMSA consolidates its presence in Turkey, where activity began in early 2012 with the Ankara underground extension. The company is completing construction of two new underground lines in the capital for the Turkish Ministry of Transport.
