COMSA EMTE, with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

This 28th April, is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This is an international campaign that aims to promote safe, healthy and decent work. Since 2003 the International Labour Organization (ILO) has organized activities to celebrate this day, emphasizing the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses.

Safety and health at work is a concern for governments, companies and workers around the world. Aware of its responsibility as a social actor, COMSA EMTE maintains a strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety. Proof of this is the implementation of the ‘Plan Cero’ (COMSA EMTE Riesgo Cero). This plan integrates prevention at all levels of the organization and establishes mechanisms to detect and neutralize potential areas for improvement.

In the framework of the ‘Plan Cero’ the group launched in late 2011 the Occupational Health and Safety COMSA EMTE Awards. These aim to promote, within the company, the application of methods, skills and ideas that can add value to safety and health conditions and to contribute to improving the corporate culture of prevention.

The awards are divided into three categories: ‘Safe Work’, for initiatives to provide preventive measures implemented effectively; ‘Ingenuity in Prevention’, for innovative and resourceful thinking that contribute to improved prevention in COMSA EMTE, and ‘Living with Prevention’, children’s drawings related to Occupational Health and Safety.

The award is pending judgement, the application closing date for entries was very recent. On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we present this poster with some of the drawings made by children of employees of COMSA EMTE.
