23/12/2019 – The 16th of December saw the inauguration of the new railway section joining the provinces of Gradec and Sveti Ivan Zabno in Croatia. The Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic, the President of the Government, Gordan Jandrokovic, and the ministers for Infrastructure, Economy and Administration witnessed the commissioning of this project executed by COMSA.
The railway line, the first newly constructed line in Croatia for 52 years, links the city of Bjelovar and its neighbouring provinces to the capital, Zagreb, and has improved inhabitants’ journey times, cutting these by 50 minutes.
The project, co-financed by European Funds, has taken place over 2 years during which the railway infrastructure and superstructure were built with embankments, drainage systems and level crossings in addition to three overpasses, three underpasses and a bridge.
COMSA has also built three railway stations in Lubena, Remetinec Križevci and Haganj, and reconstructed those of Gradec and Sveti Ivan Zabno.
