HŽ Infrastruktura, the public administrator of the railway network in Croatia, has awarded COMSA a contract to build a new suburban railway line for mixed traffic between the towns of Gradec and Sveti Ivan Zabno, 40 kilometres from the capital, Zagreb. This is the company’s first project in the country.
The contract includes construction of the infrastructure and superstructure of the line, 12.2 kilometres in length, and the building of various crossings (level crossings, overpasses and underpasses), viaducts and three stops. COMSA will also be rebuilding the stations of Sveti Ivan Zabno and Gradec and will construct new access roads and connections and 9 kilometres of forest roads. The works also include the construction of a car park and the safety installations, interlocking and telecommunications. The project is valued at 25.6 million euros, has an implementation period of 26 months, and will be carried out jointly with the German company Wiebe.
