EOLIS collaborates with the Red Cross and the Food Bank in support of the earthquake victims in Puebla

02/28/2018 – EOLIS América Latina, the subsidiary of COMSA Industrial specialized in equipment for clean rooms and air conditioning systems for the Mexican industry, has donated 150,000 Mexican pesos (about 6,500 €) to the Red Cross and Food Bank of Puebla to collaborate in the work that the NGO carries out assistance and maintenance for people affected by the earthquakes of last September.

The earthquakes, which reached a magnitude of 7.1 degrees, had their epicenter in the states of Puebla and Morelos and affected the center of the country as a whole. The balance in Puebla was 45 fatalities, 127 injured and a dozen missing, according to civil protection data. Given this situation, the management of EOLIS decided to reduce all the festivities foreseen for its 50th anniversary to a formal event and, with the support of all collaborators, cancel the traditional Christmas gifts raffle in order to allocate these budget items to actions of help to the victims. Since these events, the Red Cross covers health needs and the Food Bank of Puebla distributes food, cleaning and hygiene products among those affected.

Likewise, a support program is being got-ready so that EOLIS workers and their families can collaborate as volunteers in the distribution of food in several locations near the state capital. EOLIS is closely linked to the social reality of Puebla since 1973, the year in which it inaugurated its plant specialized in the manufacture and assembly of air conditioning products for the textile industry.
