The Port of Barcelona awards COMSA two projects for 30 million

The Port of Barcelona Board Port de Barcelona of Directors awarded COMSA two civil engineering works to restore the old East Breakwater and to construct the north esplanade of the Prat pier, for a combined value of 30 million euros.

Jointly with Arnó, Acsa and Copisa, the company will execute the fourth and final phase  of the project to improve the port’s old East Breakwater, valued at 25,1 million euros and with an execution period of 20 months. Said interventions are aimed at restoring the breakwater, which has ungergone progressive deterioration in recent years as the consequence of several heavy storm periods.

In parallel, COMSA will construct the esplanade in the northern area of the Prat Pier, which will house the storage and manoeuvoring area for the new container terminal that will be operated by TerCat, a company in the Chinese Hutchinson Group. The works total 5.1 million euros and have a 12-month execution period.
