In recent months, COMSA has begun projects in the Mexican road sector thanks to the award of three projects in the states of Baja California Sur, Sonora and Tabasco, involving the upgrading of a total of 56 kilometres of road.
The first contract involves the modernization of the San Pedro – Cabo San Lucas road, a 14 kilometre stretch that connects the towns of Todos Santos and Cabo San Lucas in the state of Baja California Sur. The projects, awarded by the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Telecomunicaciones (SCT), consist mainly in the doubling of the road and the construction of five bridges.
In parallel, COMSA is modernizing and extending the 32 kilometre Sonoyta – San Luis Colorado road in the state of Sonora. The project, awarded by the SCT, contemplates the widening of the road from 7 to 12 meters in order to ease traffic for heavy vehicles on a stretch of road with high density traffic that connects two of the busiest border crossroads between Mexico and the USA.
Finally, the Government of the State of Tabasco, through the Secretaría de Asentamientos y Obras Públicas, has recently awarded COMSA with the reconstruction of the Camino Netzahuacoyolt – Multe road, 10.6 kilometres in length, which connects the towns of Leona Vicario and Multe, and which has deteriorated due to the frequent floods in the area.
