COMSA is to build the Vinarós-Vandellós section of the Mediterranean Corridor

The Ministry of Development, through Adif, has granted COMSA the installation of the international standard width for the railway section from Vinarós (Castellón) to Vandellós (Tarragona), 70 kilometres in length and forming part of the Mediterranean Corridor.

COMSA will carry out track and electrification work and will adapt the facilities for the operation of goods trains on interoperable standard width, of 750 metres, thus guaranteeing the correct provision of the passenger and goods transportation services. The project also includes additional work on the L’Aldea-Tortosa section, 12 kilometres long.

The contract will be executed together with Acciona Infraestructuras and has an execution period of 15 months. COMSA is currently building another section of the Mediterranean Corridor, from Martorell (Barcelona) to Sant Vicenç de Calders (Tarragona).
